Service Description
6-week online course, Sundays at 5 pm Central Time, April 12th through May 17th. We will use the Work of Byron Katie to identify and question the thoughts that cause stress and suffering. Doing the Work in a small group is wonderful - the joining together, learning from one another, as well as witnessing each other go through this powerful process is in my experience very joyful and inspiring. This course is open to beginners as well as experienced practitioners in the Work. We will question stressful thoughts about ourselves, our bodies, and our world. Who would we be without our stressful thoughts? How would we feel about ourselves if we didn't compare ourselves - to others or to that "ideal version" of ourselves in our minds? The Work of Byron Katie is a fantastic framework to learn to understand our mind. I've come to see that all of our stressful thoughts are trying to help us. They are there to protect us, to motivate us, to support us. And the reality is that it doesn't work like that. In reality, the harshness is not helpful and kindness works much better! Seeing how the mind is trying to be helpful, and reminding ourselves that there is a kinder way is one outcome of doing the Work of Byron Katie.
