Transforming Negative Self-Talk

A live 8-week online class exploring the possibility of a kinder inner voice through the Work of Byron Katie

August 10th - September 28th, 5:30 - 7 pm PT (7:30 - 9pm CT)
8 virtual live classes on Zoom
Small class size of up to 7 participants

Open to anybody who is tired of negative self-talk.

In all my work—both personal and with clients—I’ve noticed a common theme: negative self-talk. It’s often harsh, unkind, even mean. Instead of motivating us, it tends to hold us back, make us feel bad about ourselves, and can keep us from being our best self.

That’s why I created this 8-week online class, open to anyone who wants to take a deep dive into the mind. We’ll use The Work of Byron Katie—a deceptively simple yet profoundly transformative method—to identify and question stressful thoughts.

What if our inner critic is actually trying to help, just using ill-judged words and tactics? Through this process, we’ll begin to understand that even our most negative self-talk may be a misguided attempt at care—and we’ll learn how to respond with kindness instead of judgment. With eight 90-minute Zoom sessions and partner work in between, we’ll explore what happens when the inner drill sergeant softens, and we meet ourselves with trust, curiosity, and compassion. It’s been a game changer for me—and I’d love to share that with you.

TESTIMONIALS

"I loved this class! I know it was good because by the last class I felt like we were only getting started.  I love The Work so much, and Judith did a wonderful job as a guide for looking at negative self talk.  In this course I really got a chance to look at that negative self-talk closely and had many experiences of seeing through it and laughing at it! I think a great lesson I've learned is to not take it so seriously, even when it is there, and not to resist it because the resistance in itself is part of the same negative dynamic.  I loved the partnerwork in the class as well, and doing group inquiries is soooo helpful.  Thanks Judith!"

Jordan, C

"Judith was a gracious and enthusiastic host in this workshop. The sessions proceeded at a good clip, providing lots of fresh ways of looking at the topic, negative self-talk. Most importantly, I feel much less afraid of my inner critic than I did when I began the course. “It’s not about being perfect.”

Judith brings a decade of experience in helping people untangle the thoughts that keep them stuck. She guides individuals and couples with clarity, compassion, and directness, using The Work of Byron Katie as a path to question painful beliefs and transform negative self-talk. Her approach is simple but deep — grounded in real life, honest reflection, and the possibility of change. She has experienced the stifling effect of negative self-talk as a classical pianist and as a mother, and knows from her own inner work how much of a difference is possible.
